Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Nick is the 15th wrapping-wing member of the Flaxseed Ridge Holiday Dragons. He has a great sense of smell, able to recognize everyone in the group and differentiate breeds with a sniff: his nose knows. There are many breeds he cannot identify by sight, just by smell. This along with his agility and buoyancy in flight are why he's in the food-procuring rotation year-round. For a long time, Nick thought he knew every type of holiday dragon there is and was proud of his knowing nose, so he was caught off-guard when a blue-crested visitor came asking about the snows in his community. He knew snow angels and wondered if the stranger misspoke, but that was unlikely since what he described was clearly different. Nick spent a few minutes reviewing every dragon type in his olfactory database and came up with nothing. As he guided the visitor farther into Flaxseed Ridge territory, he admitted to himself that not all holiday dragons were familiar to him after all: his nose knows no snows.
