Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Tapau is the owner of Tapau, which means he is in charge of a place that provides cooked food—in Tapau's case, stir-fries and soups. His name describes a sort of thing where you order food and then leave with it when it's done rather than eating on site, a totally new concept to Juliett Town before he started his business. For about six years, it was small enough that he could run the whole establishment himself, with occasional help from his Winter sister. Many dragons were convinced that he would use time magic to fix mistakes and give himself more leeway for filling orders. If that's true, then eventually, using magic wasn't worth the cost, and he had to start hiring help. It takes him a while to warm up to others, but once he likes someone, he'll do nearly anything he can to help. Now he has three trusted cooks and an accountant, and Tapau is the most popular eatery in the neighborhood. Tapau resists adding "'s" to his eatery's name. He is Tapau, and his business is Tapau.
