Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Frozen Soul is a member of the Singing Valentines, who travel to a recipient or audience's territory to sing for them. She has few responsibilities other than following the grownups' instructions and being the de facto mascot. If the individual who hired the group asked the Singing Valentines to deliver a gift as well as to sing to their recipient, Frozen Soul usually gets to present it, since she clamors loudest for that honor.
