It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Proud, elegant and haughty, Mauve Elegance believes she is worth far more than her undeniable common status due to the fact that she is the mother of the first coveted male Purple in the weyr.  She talks endlessly and boringly of her precious son, Electric Cosmos; the more modest and sincere male frequently loses his temper with her and is more often than not refusing to speak with her at all.

She was once naive, sweet and kind, but the seed of selfishness and smugness in her heart blossomed with the hatching of Electric.  Her mate, A Stone Unturned, chooses to ignore her unfavourable behaviour; their pairing, after all, was one based on appearances rather than any mutual affection between the two dragons.

It is unfortunate that very few choose to deal with Mauve, as some of the wiser, elder dragons in the weyr firmly believe that her gentler, likable side could be nurtured back simply with more patience from those around her.
