Cavern Lurker Dragons are nocturnal ambush predators. Although small, they are very aggressive and will attack anything weak enough to be overpowered. Their preferred method of hunting is to lie in wait in a cave, burrow, or other small, enclosed space; when any potential prey passes they will lunge out to grab hold of the unsuspecting victim and drag it back into the lair. Cavern Lurkers have an odd aversion to sunlight and almost never venture out during the day. More commonly sighted are the odd piles of bones they stack near the entrance to their dens. Their mating call is a low-pitched bumping noise.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Brindle cannot stand the daylight. Not due to sensitive skin, or eyes adjusted to the darkness of night, or even some obsession with keeping herself hidden and out of sight. No, Brindle loathes the day for its gaudiness, how the sunlight illuminates every object in a bright and flashy manner making the world look tacky. When she compares it to the darkness of the night, where every object stands alone in their individual beauty, she cannot see how anyone could stand to live in the day time. The light is like a veil of water to her, and muddles the beauty of the world, while the night is a background of contrast and beauty set to display every item to their advantage. When Brindle paints she only uses the colours visible in the night, weaving in different shades of black to show the world through her perspective. While she is renowned as a great artist throughout the cave, few see her ideals as any more than a waste of time, as not everyone has eyesight as good as Brindle's.
