Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s covered in a very thin layer of down.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Chokri and her mother live on a brown outcrop very near a town filled with humans. The humans don't mind the big, scary dragon as long as she doesn't hunt them too often, and she is satisfied with her outcrop. Chokri isn't. Every day, she skitters out of her nest to try to join the folks in a documents repository near the center of town. Living in the repository is a little white weakling-... er, dragon who is pampered just for being cute. Chokri wants that kind of life. She is a "white" dragon, too, and she's definitely adorable! She has no idea why the humans won't accept her, and the more she screeches and demands to be admitted, the less willing they are to do so. She sometimes throws up from the exertion, and they don't even feel sorry for her. In the evening, Chokri's mother finds her and whisks her back home, no questions asked. She makes no effort to stop her daughter from running off again, since the humans make decent sitters.
