Golden Wyverns are known for their beautiful metallic scales and rumored magical abilities. Living high in the mountains, these dragons do not believe in killing for sport or pleasure. They will hunt only when hungry and defend themselves when provoked, but will avoid killing to the best of their abilities. Golden Wyverns often mingle with other dragons of similar color and take pride in their shimmering hide.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ryeira Darkwing is a cheerful, beautiful young golden wyvern who is truly at harmony with nature. She mourns the lives of those she must eat for her own sustenance, respecting them before and after death. She is most often found in meadows filled with wildflowers and other animals, immersing herself in the beauty of the surrounding life. She dislikes fighting, and will only resort to battle if she must defend herself or those she loves. While not very physically powerful, Ryeira is an extraordinarily good flyer and aerial acrobat. She can easily and gracefully fly circles around other dragons, and sometimes does so just for fun.

Ryeira never considered herself special or beautiful, so she was honored when Ryuu Darkwing (the clan's most noble and desirable warrior) asked her to be his mate. She eagerly accepted, and now the two of them live happily together. As a display of affection, she will dance in the sky for him, showcasing her fantastic aerial skills.
