Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This hatchling is particularly wild in a chaotic group of young dragons and loves fleeing with whatchamacallits and trinkets nicked from the humans who traverse their fiery rock-land. Sometimes, the stolen goods happen to be things important to survival, like canteens, shoes, and wands. Those weird apes seem to enjoy testing their luck even in the harshest, most dangerous places.
