Serrati Wyverns are a fierce breed of dragon typically found in volcanic areas or in desert scrubland. With their keen vision, these fearsome predators can pick out well-camouflauged prey from the slightest movement. They are named for the double rows of serrated teeth that line their beaks, which allow these wyverns to maintain an unbreakable grip on prey while they tear into their target with deadly hooked claws. Though these dragons are combative with nearly everything, they are surprisingly well-mannered when raising their offspring in communal nests. Males, however, tend to be chased off as soon as eggs are laid.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Roddric has a nasty disposition, partially due to his heritage and partially due to his heritage. His magical ability dwarfs that of most other serrati wyverns, and he gladly applies his power to all applicable situations, but he is still easily trounced and pushed around by the desipis members of his family, which infuriates him. He cannot accept that no matter how much he practices, how many dragons he spars with, and how much mana he hoards, some Magi-affiliated dragon can just walk right up to him and bat him aside. In his free time, if Roddric is not seething and leaving slash marks around the volcano, he's bathing in the hot spring and grooming, so he at least has softer, cleaner, more radiant hair than anyone else.
