Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sea Swirl was intended to be a name-holder. Problem is, she liked the name too much. As soon she was given the name, she asked what a "sea" was, and was told that a sea was a great body of salty water. She recognized salt. Salt was tasty. So instead of staying on the mountaintop or in her cave like a good little Royal Blue, she followed the running water until she found such a body of water. She tasted it immediately and found it was delicious. When she returned home, she was told two things; She found an ocean and not a sea, and that it was not good for her to drink that water. She didn't care. As far as she was concerned, it was a sea and it was tasty. And she kept the name.
