Mint colored dragons are the most peaceful of all dragons; they only eat plants unless they scavenge meat from an already dead animal. They also have no ways to attack others or defend themselves. They are much smaller than other forms of dragons since they only double in size when they mature. Mint dragons are unable to use magic and cannot fly since they lack wings. Their looks have given rise to the common insult of calling dragons “large lizards.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

She grew up quietly, as Mints usually do, but she was not content. Her best friend, Morgan Le Black, shared her restlessness, and the two decided they must leave the Cave and venture West, into the Unknown Lands. Others, even mints, had gone west, and there were fascinating stories that filtered back of a land called Verdant.

As they traveled, she pondered her life and what she wanted to do. She and Morgan both wanted to do something that made a difference, something that helped other dragons. Maybe, in Verdant...

As they reached the top of the massive western mountains, there was blue ocean on the horizon and a large lush valley below, extending many miles to the ocean sands. Riding on Morgan's back, they flew to the busy community in the heart of the valley.  A few dragons, including an intriguing little Mint, approached as they arrived, and instantly she knew her true name was Mentha Verdana, and she was home.
