Golden Wyverns are known for their beautiful metallic scales and rumored magical abilities. Living high in the mountains, these dragons do not believe in killing for sport or pleasure. They will hunt only when hungry and defend themselves when provoked, but will avoid killing to the best of their abilities. Golden Wyverns often mingle with other dragons of similar color and take pride in their shimmering hide.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

All the dragons in the clans seem to have one special talent. Some are agile, some are powerful, some are skilled hunters and some can cure even the sickest of dragons back to health. But not Taila. Taila is not beautiful, nor especially kind, she has no great devotion or quest which she yearns to fulfil, and no interesting story to tell late at night. Taila sees herself as being entirely ordinary, and loathes that. She wants to have something special, unique about her, some skill that will make other dragons go: "See that one, she's the dragon who is amazing at " But of course, they never do. Taila is so ordinary that even her presence grants nothing more than a muttering of vague greetings, nobody even bothering to look up from their work to glance at her, Taila's appearance and personality is so normal that she can be overlooked in any situation, as could a rock in the cave, and other dragons see her as being bland and boring to talk to as she adds nothing to the conversation.
