Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Tanzanitiel UmberGleam (after the gemstone: Tanzanite) joined the clan cave as its 170th member, his egg twinkling like the heavens on a crisp and clear spring night. Much to the surprise of all, she emerged from her shell with a new, glorious, and never before seen, orange gleam to her scales. The clan elders quickly gathered around to admire her, and even as a hatchling, she quickly came to understand that she represented a fresh, new form of her species. As is normal for her kind, she prefers the cool comfort of the night time skies over the brightness of the day, and spends much of her waking hours soaring high above the treetops and among the stars. She is a rather carefree dragon, knowing that her uniqueness affords her a special place within the clan cave, yet this does not seem to have caused arrogance, for she maintains a peaceful humility and calm restfulness. She does not seem in any hurry to select a mate, nor to bear offspring, content instead to wait for true love.
