Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It was born with a full set of wings.

And look! Its wings have grown larger! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Pelage writes something that isn't poetry but sort of is, in its own strange way, which some find amusing and others find insulting. He puts a lot of thought into every piece and keeps everything organized in his recently acquired house, in which the previous inhabitants conveniently left several bookshelves and chests. He isn't afraid to admit that he can't get the hang of meter or euphony or symbolism or tone, etc. etc., but those aren't stopping him from continuing to write. Nine years of hopping around genres later, Pelage's magnum opus goes: "There once was a mint in a cave—A cute little mint in a cave—Alone in a cave—A very big cave—This dragon who lived in a cave".
