Aww... It’s a cute baby drake. It likes to be left alone.

Young drakes are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own.

Acarine has a human who's not very smart, so it's a good thing she's around. If it weren't for her, the human would lose many balls because he keeps throwing them away, and Acarine has to run after them. The human also makes angry noises at food for some reason: one day can't go by without him grumbling about a tasty spider that's entered their living box or waving at a flying insect, presumably in a fruitless attempt to fly as well. He is a giving creature, though; when he kills bugs and other small animals, he always gives them to Acarine. She's never seen him eat them himself, and that's why despite all his shortcomings, she loves her human.
