Script Dragons are named for the markings along their wings and sides that look almost like calligraphy. The patterns correspond to no known language, and are slightly different on every dragon. These dragons only develop the characteristic markings when they reach maturity, and they are fairly capable with magic once the patterns appear.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Most humans who choose to take care of dragons struggle with their first few, perhaps losing eggs to sickness, accidentally freezing hatchlings, or failing to have hatchlings reach full maturity. Venetian Spitfire has been a patient and hardy dragon, even as an egg. Perhaps it was luck that allowed her to be successfully raised by humans or perhaps it was her determined and intelligent nature. She has always seemed not only confident in her survival but in her ability to thrive under any circumstance and hardship. One can only imagine that the contents of her script-like markings would read triumphs and legends of endless inspiration and unwavering hope.
