Sunrise Dragons are closely related to sunset dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunrise Dragons prefer to live in large groups and enjoy basking in the early morning sun. They are usually most active in the morning, and go to sleep in the early evening.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Reginald is the twenty fifth dragon of the Natashina clan and has been told he was "too chipper for his own good." A jaunty and jolly dragon, he always tries to wake up the other members of the clan early in the morning. Naturally, the Black dragons, and the Sunset dragons do not find this trait endearing, swatting him away. Reginald always ready to cheer up anyone, but he tends to take it too far. As a result, he seems overbearing with his attentions, and a bit of a nuisance. He is also very athletic and likes to go racing with Windlash Dance and Azure every day. Reginald teaches the hatchlings how to hunt early in the morning and spends much of his time with Janthelle.
