Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has large frills on its head.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Guardian of WS 09 is the illegitimate love-child of the Guard Father and O. Tyger's Mate.  Despite being mostly ignored by his mother, he has never been treated with anything but love by his father.  While still in the egg, Guard Father told the hatchling-to-be of the wonderful job he would have when he hatched -- guarding and organizing dragons for the Caregiver.  Because he was born in the winter, the little frill decided to help the winter dragons born in the year 09 and the seasonal dragons that would descend from them.

Guardian of WS 09 takes his job very seriously, but he is not above pulling a practical joke every now and then.  His favorite jokes are to hide sour candies among the sweetling's candy hoards and to drape the nocturnes with flowers and bits of streamers.
