Frilled Dragons are smaller than most other breeds, but when threatened, they stretch out their wings and frills to appear larger. They generally do not like to fight and prefer hiding to confrontation. Frilled dragons live in small groups and often band together to scare off potential threats. Males also use their frills as a way to attract mates, with those displaying the “best” frills being more likely to breed.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This frill came to the Caves as a hatchling when the Caregiver found him abandoned outside a cave.  She immediately took him in, and he has been following her around ever since.  After a particularly frantic afternoon when the Caregiver was trying to find some of the seasonal dragons hiding in the back of the Caves, the young frill found his calling.  He organizes the other dragons for the Caregiver and trains younger frills to help him keep all of them in line.  Since his charges guard the placement and activities of the other dragons, he decided his name should be the Guard Father.

Guard Father does not have a single mate, but enjoys flirting and spending time with many different ladies.  His current favorite is a lovely stripe dragon named Opalescent Tyger's Mate, and he hopes desperately that O. Tyger doesn't find out about the tryst.  Their son, Guardian of WS09, has followed in his father's organizational footsteps.
