Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Born from a purple dragon mother and brought up a bit spoiled, Elpidio has an unfortunate tendency to go on rampages when he doesn't get what he wants. He tolerates humans he knows, but a random human entering his kingdom must be ready for some quick bargaining, fighting, or fleeing if they do not wish to get crisped. Elpidio has a fondness for venison and garnets, and lives in a crumbled fortress at the top of a tor in a section of plainsland. Unlike most other dragons, he does not keep a hoard, per se, instead carrying any garnets he "finds" in a backpack around his neck. He wears a human-sized necklace as an anklet (of course, adorned only with garnets). Most of his time is spent patrolling the borders of his territory.
