Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Chaentroph is not part of the Stripes of Hogwarts lineage, but he wishes he was. He has been writing a series of books based on made-up "pinstripe dragons" who live in magic-using clans not unlike the houses of the Stripes of Hogwarts. The recurring antagonist is a short-tailed rodent from a town called Mort, who seems to always manage to escape so that he can recur to harass the red pinstripe protagonists in the series's next instalment. Some say Chaentroph originally planned to use the famous lineage and name real individuals as characters, but changed plans after being threatened with both legal and magical retaliation. Indeed, the ridiculous main villain has led to countless jokes. Chaentroph doesn't seem to notice, and continues to write novel after novel ending with a climactic battle aganist Vole De Mort.
