Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Damian has inherited his father's mastery of the culinary arts, although he doesn't eat humans. Too big to hold cooking utensils or small ingredients such as rice and spices, he hires mints to do the work for him under his orders. Their pay is his delicious meals. He roams the world with his mint sous-chefs, only occasionally wondering whether they taste minty, trading recipes and competing in cooking competitions. However, despite his love of being a chef, he is still a black dragon, and a fierce fighter. He will fly into a rage if anyone dares to insult his scrumptious meals, and the critics often end up cooked themselves!
