White Dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can’t bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Jode was once a normal White dragon, healing any dragon, human or animal that asked for her assistance. That all changed the day she met an angry wild Desipis. The behemoth's magic twisted and tore at her mind, changing her empathy into boredom, compassion to disdain, and kindness to contempt.

Her skill at healing remained intact, and her unmatched knowledge of rare illnesses and unusual injuries suffered no harm. Despite the change in her attitude, Jode is still one of the best healers anyone could ask for.

She is approached only by the brave or desperate, those who have exhausted every other option in finding relief for their ailments. Her healing is accompanied by cutting remarks, scathing commentary, and sarcastic observations about her patients, their families, and the cause of their problems.

Her colleagues are not immune to her sharp tongue. More than one junior healer or nurse has been sent off in tears by her acerbic attitude.
