Mint colored dragons are the most peaceful of all dragons; they only eat plants unless they scavenge meat from an already dead animal. They also have no ways to attack others or defend themselves. They are much smaller than other forms of dragons since they only double in size when they mature. Mint dragons are unable to use magic and cannot fly since they lack wings. Their looks have given rise to the common insult of calling dragons “large lizards.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Saboteur is the only son of the powerful and intelligent clan leader, Athia, and the beautiful and mysterious Valentine dragon, Love. However he is nothing like either of his parents. While his father was powerful enough to outsmart a fierce gold dragon in battle, Saboteur is afraid of everyone, and everything. He is a typical mint, and a great disappointment to his father and clan. Everyone thought he would be the eventual successor as clan leader, but he spends most of his time hiding in the back of the cave. Given a name of great power, Saboteur does nothing to live up to his namesake. If Athia were to die, Saboteur would never step up to take his father's place. He avoids most of the clan members, and has no friends, as he is afraid of almost all of them. In fact, the one that scares him most is that tiny feathered creature know as Lil Peepers.
