Pink Dragons are primarily herbivores and only eat meat during the mating season, when mates will exchange kills. When it is not breeding season, pink dragons spend most of their time incubating eggs and caring for their clan’s young. Due to their feminine color, it was traditionally thought that pink dragons were a strictly female breed, but this is not true.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As the newest member of the en Rose Pinks of Chameleon's Cave, Reve's task is to oversee the older eggs and hatchlings, and ensure that they are gendering correctly. For Reve, every day is a thrilling adventure, as he loves his role within the cave almost as much as he loves his mother, Bertha Broadfoot, and his cave daughter, Sweet Desdemon. Even as a hatchling, the older dragons could see he had an aptitude for this job; he would scamper amongst the newer hatchlings, solemnly informing them of what he believed their gender should be.
