Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

One day, a girl entered her cave to check on her dragons to see if any new eggs had been laid. There were none to be found at the front of the cave, but as she neared the Horses, she saw an older Horse named Seera nursing a golden egg. The girl knew who the egg was at once. It was the long awaited golden child of Casgen Ronzar. Seera seemed to be acting more protective of her egg than usual, but it was to be expected since Golds are highly prized dragons.

The egg hatched, but was raised without play mates. The hatching matured into a quiet, thoughtful female dragon who seems very serious at most times. Isobelle however, hides her playful and  gentle side unless she is with her mate Haimi.
