Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Melanthiuz, taking influences from those closest to him, is a mixture of his older brother Myloz II and his older sister Malyah.  Myloz II and Melanthiuz are both serious and have very adult-like minds.  However, Malyah and Melanthiuz are also very much alike since they both love to have childish fun.  Melanthiuz likes to mix his company, hanging out with the adult dragons one day and then all the hatchlings the next day.  He has not found that certain place in the clan due to the fact that he cannot figure out who he likes better: the adults or the hatchlings.  However, no matter what spot he chooses for that day, he makes sure that he has a blast wherever he is at.
