Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Oro Gelo, despite her glamorous scales, is not a flashy dragon at all, but one with very simple taste and personality.  As a hatchling, she was lost from her mother and wandered around until a human had taken her in, nursing her until she nearly reached adulthood.  At that time, the human turned on her, wanting to kill her for her scales.  Oro managed to leave the human unharmed and to escape, wandering in the land for some time until she ran into Shelah, the mute Guardian dragon of the clan.  Oro traveled back to the clan with Shelah and has lived her life there.
