Flamingo Wyverns are so named for their resemblance to the tropical birds with whom they often share territory. Their most striking feature is the bony black crest over their faces and snouts, larger in males, aiding both in digging up food and protection when fighting for mates. Males are duller in color than females due to their habit of wandering from nest to nest and picking from less algae-rich feeding grounds.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ironically, Flarin despises pink and anything pink. If someone points out he is pink, then they have about five seconds to run (less if they aren't a friend). Flarin cannot breathe fire, as his name may suggest; it's his temper that flares without warning. He is fascinated with weaponry and fighting skills, perhaps in a way to make up for his lack of abilities compared to the rest of his adopted family. He will do anything to defend his pride and will not tolerate any sort of teasing at his expense. Fortunately, Flarin also has a softer, more intellectual side to him. Listening to stories about great warriors of the past is his favorite pastime. (He doesn't really seem to have any interest in actually learning how to read them by himself however...) The bloodier the story is, the better.
