Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Brionee was once a mighty warrior, a force to be reckoned with. No other dragon matched her courage. And then, one morning, the sun was blacked out, and she and hundreds of other dragons were taken from their homes and devoured by a horrific beast that even the gods were powerless to stop. Though the gods were unable to quell the beast's hunger, the mightiest of the gods labored to restore the devoured creatures to life. Despite being returned to life, Brionee will never be the same. The slightest movement in the shadows spooks her, and she is always looking over her shoulder to check for lurking monsters. She does, however, try to put on a brave front, and will snap at anyone she even suspects is pitying her.
