Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Descendant of the Destai clan, Chandra("moon" in Sanskrit) was abandoned when she was only an egg. She was rescued, raised and named by the human Louna. Together with the dragons she grew up with(Skywings Kodo and Podo and the younger White Aria), she founded the Rishnala clan, and, being oldest, became leader of the new group.

As a brief romance with Kodo ended, only Aria stayed at her side, becoming her friend, mate and calm advisor.

Slightly larger than an average Guardian, she can be very protective and even violent when members of her clan are threatened. However, fearing competition, she has refused, until recently, to allow her own offspring or other Guardian dragons into the clan. Aria, the only one capable of making her see reason when she made harsh decisions, has recently swayed her into keeping a single child of theirs.

Reluctant at first, she has grown very fond of Alpha, doing everything she can to ensure that she will be one day be a worthy leader for the Rishnalas.
