Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Headstrong and gentle at the same time, Lhanayru is a very odd mix of character traits. She can't stand seeing injustice and will physically fight to see fairness prevail—she may be a hatchling, but her small frame veils strength enough to rival some of the adults. At the same time, she loves seeing the clan grow, and adores whittling away her day tending to the eggs. She's always excited when she sees new eggs of never-before-seen dragons, and is especially attuned to them—she also loves to help those unique hatchlings mingle with the then-curious clan. All dragons agree she would have made a great mother if she'd been able to grow up.
