When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Calio is a caring dragon, she is generally peaceful towards other creatures, and can understand nearly every language spoken in the sea, which includes the marine life. Calio is one of the few, who have adapted themselves to live in the sea. She is a very strong Water Dragon, her muscular figure allows her to move at great speeds, and she is great at jumping out of the surface, and manages to get some amazing height. Calio follows dolphins around, and usually blue whales that are about the same size of her. She is peaceful with the mammals, and never usually attacks them. Calio has only been spotted once by another at sea, when she was swimming after a shoal of fish. However, she has been spotted plenty of times in her birth place, Calio Lake. The locals named the lake after her, because it was where she was born. She always swims upriver to the lake every spring, and simply waits there for a week or two. According to the locals, she is waiting for a mate.
