Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hika is a huge romantic. She always watches the other dragons of the clan trying to figure out who has feelings for whom and is too afraid to show them. In a way she is more adamant and even more successful than the resident Heartseeker, because she is not blinded by any preconceptions about what would be an acceptable mating or trying to lure unsuspecting dragons in by using pheromones.

She just watches until she is sure there is a mutual chemistry between two or more dragons and then gently pushes them together and does her best to remove obstacles. Her newest and up-to-date hardest case are a terribly oblivious Whiptail and a Trihorn trapped in a loveless mating. She really hopes she can get the two males together without resorting to banging a few heads in or breaking other hearts in the process.
