Aether Wyverns have the ability to control winds utilising air mana. During mating season, rival males often attempt to impress females by hanging onto a rock beside the female and letting another Aether Wyvern blast gale-force winds at them. The one to stay on the rock the longest wins, and if the female wins, she will reject both males. These wyverns also use their ability to control winds to blow away intruding dragons or to capture prey, though an Aether Wyvern’s aim is not perfect. As a solution to their imperfect aim, these wyverns will create large winds that often blow away much more than they originally intended to.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

When Windscare was a hatchling, she thought she'd never take a mate. She watched her fellow Aether Wyverns try to blast one another off the faces of the cave walls during mating season, each trying to prove themselves the worthiest mate for the one they were trying to impress, and snorted. She knew it was MEANT to seem impressive, but the displays just seemed like pointless windbagging from her perspective.

As an adult, she gained a reputation for prickliness, particularly toward any unfortunate dragon who developed romantic feelings for her. Some tried to impress her with their air mana, but hers was always stronger and she blew off any wooing attempts with volleys of wind. Attempts to flirt through showdragonship were strictly and quickly denied. When she met Lord Pan, a strangely fruit-scented dragon, they bonded through complaining about the messes other dragons made in seeking love.

Turns out, they had more in common than that, and they've been happily mated for several years now.
