It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

"Of course I can jump hoops, my father's a horse!"

This unusually gruff female (her voice is a terrifying bass) has justified many things based on her heritage. Fearlessly wrestling lions, saving babies from enchanted towers, and eating two week old leftover cake, her self-assurance is always based on "I'm half horse, of course I can do that." This stalwart bravery (and lack of any bragging after--she handles everything as if it were simple reality) has earned her many friends and made her one of the Cirque de Pourpre's most sought after entertainers (whether people are more fond of the tricks she works with hoops, her manly opera singing, or her feats of altruism is up for debate). Despite her popularity, no one has ever been able to unearth exactly how she joined the circus--all that's known is that she's particularly close to the ringmaster.
