Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

On a cold December's night, a newcoming tamer of dragons came to the world of Galsreim. She had gone through the vast wilderness, looking for her first dragon to take and grow into her very own. Through the caves, she found nothing of interest, all up until she came to a pile of eggs, all seemingly abandoned. There laid one to the side, it's color a simple red with a golden ribbon tied around it. On the ribbon, there was a holly.

She took it through the harsh blizzard that night, taking the egg was her own, giving it a home and saving it from a dreadful fate. That night, the little dragon hatched, soon to grow into the first dragon that the tamer had nourished.

And she named it, The First Lady of Holly.
