Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A young black dragon, Zykaz was the first female to join the flight she lives in and was immediately claimed by Lechaw, the alpha male of the small group, as his first mate. Despite being different races they soon became the parents of the first egg laid in their lair.<br/>She enjoys spending time with the black hatchlings of their flight's cave, often taking the night shift of watching over both them and the other youngsters. Partly because several of the adopted hatchlings sometimes wake up and wander off, but more so to teach them the way of the warrior as well as how to hunt and use magic; often to the great devastation of Lechaw as they use it for trickery and practical jokes in the flight.
