Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Set Piece is the tyrant high priestess of Clan Akhathen, a very aggressive clan comprised mostly of hellfire wyverns dwelling in the deep caverns under Mt. Aleser. She uses her storm magic to great effect and has rigged up her side-tunnel with metal wires and vents, for her position is precarious in spite of its benefits. The threat of a coup looms over her at all times, and she wards off the idea with boisterous religious sermons, often incorporating symbolism relating to arthropods.

Notably, Set Piece cannot fly, grounded by damaged lungs. Her health is poor and she is prone to coughing fits and chest spasms, a result of an otherwise failed attempt at a poisoning. Having adopted hellfire habits and traditions, she has had multiple consorts over the years, though a number of them have been subsequently sacrificed as a display of power.
