It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Grapestar is much like the "leader" of the Scroll dragons. Even before they all agreed on this decision, she acted firmly and smartly. Once she matured it was shown she was the best choice, apart from the first rare or a Season. She is highly respected and opinion is always taken seriously. She has a short temper, making it difficult for her to find a mate. <br/>She was first found at the regular egg-drops but had a sort of air around her that made her owner adore her. Once she hatched, she tried to find out her regular parents but found no way to connect back to them. Since then, she takes up a large responsibilty and will be first to say she is wrong.
