Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Sai Halla is in the habit of vanishing for long periods of time without letting anyone know where she will be going, what she intends to do, and when or if she is coming back. Nobody has yet been able to find her during one of her disappearances, and at times she has been gone so long she's been declared dead, only to arrive home alive and well sometime later.
