Stone Dragons have a tough outer covering made of a stone-like material. They eat rocks, using the minerals they contain for nourishment and to keep up their stone outer shell. They rarely move, and are the heaviest of all types of dragons. Although they have wings, indicating flight ability, no one has ever seen a stone dragon flying.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Mnemosyne belongs to a special class among dragons, holding a position usually (though not always) held by stone dragons. She is a memory-keeper. Other dragons bring her memories of their lives and experiences, and she stores them deep in her extremely efficient silicon-based brain. Other dragons come to visit her, to share mind-to-mind stories and happenings that may have occurred yesterday or thousands of years ago (some of which she acquired from older memory-keepers passing down their treasures for sharing among a wider group—rather like human librarians making copies of more treasured books for other libraries). Though she has not left the cave in which she was born and raised, she is more experienced and knowledgeable than many much more widely-traveled dragons. She has no need to leave the cave to feed herself, as other dragons take it in shifts to attend to her needs in exchange for her knowledge.
