Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It perfectly depicts winter weather.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Peri is a mischievous hatchling who never seems to tire of playing and rough-housing with her fellow hatchlings.  She loves winter, of course, and when it snows she is the first one outside to play in it.  She'll hide in snow banks, and jump out at her playmates and even at the adults.  Fearless, she has a tendency to wander away from the safety of the cave which forces her caretakers to go out in search of her.  No matter how many times she's scolded for her irresponsible behavior, she still can't be bothered to take life too seriously.  As the first daughter of the clan's matron, she feels entitled to whatever fun she likes.
