Vremya Drakes are known for their impeccable abilities to alter time as an instinctual response to external stimuli. Whenever they feel threatened or startled, Vremya Drakes are capable of locking their target into a temporary time loop, allowing the drakes to escape unscathed. This attachment to time magic also supplies them insight to potential outcomes a few moments ahead to give them an advantage in dangerous situations. Many instances of deja vu have been attributed to Vremya Drakes and their time loops. Once heralded as the most intelligent drake breed, they are actually not much smarter than the average drake, but their unique method of distracting enemies has falsely given them a reputation of cunning and acumen.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

Kashiko has never been a fan of getting injured or being upset by something unexpected, so whenever she is confronted with something unfamiliar, she will dip into her innate affinity for time magic to give her a peek at what might happen if she attempts to engage with the Current Suspicious Thing of Interest. Some of the clan leaders have attempted to make use of this ability by asking Kashiko to screen gifts they receive from neighboring dragon families, to ensure that any trinkets exchanged are not magically cursed and will not cause harm. Usually Kashiko does a fairly good job at determining which gifts are safe to handle and which ones are threats disguised as courtesy but there are some memorable occasions where she misinterprets wildly. Usually this is because she doesn't understand that some things, such as the paint that accompanies a fancy calligraphy set, are not intended for eating.
