Ridgewing Dragons live just below the snow level on the upper slopes of mountains. They are a friendly, playful breed and enjoy dancing in wind currents near their homes or plummeting down into valleys from great heights. Their wings, by far their most striking feature, grow in fin-like ridges along their backs. While their bodies lack markings to blend better with their surroundings, a ridgewing’s wings have bright markings in the colors of the flowers that grow in their mountain habitat. Occasionally different-colored individuals can be found, but they are rare because their striking coloring offers little protection.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

The new consort to Waltz Upon the Mountains, a fellow Ridgewing and famous dancer in the cave, Rainbow of Wildflowers is more simply known as Wildflower. Named for her striking wing coloration that match the flowers growing just outside the cave, Wildflower's favorite flower of all is the purple hyacinth, which symbolically is a flower of forgiveness. Wildflower, while having a fairly pleasant disposition, is not liked by some other females in the cave. This is due to her having the favor of Waltz Upon the Mountains, who is favored by the ladies for his odd coloration for a Ridgewing and his dancing. These females are jealous towards Wildflower and are often spiteful and are always trying to ruin her day. Wildflower however just takes this in stride and like the flower she favors, she forgives most trespasses against her from the jealous ones. She reasons it would only be wasted effort to respond in a similar fashion and she rather spends her time gathering flowers and enjoying life.
