Stone Dragons have a tough outer covering made of a stone-like material. They eat rocks, using the minerals they contain for nourishment and to keep up their stone outer shell. They rarely move, and are the heaviest of all types of dragons. Although they have wings, indicating flight ability, no one has ever seen a stone dragon flying.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Aviand is literally his description: He is unmoving both in stature and in emotion.  Ever since the death of his beloved mate, Sierthra, he has done nothing but brood.  He was once a young dragon full of happiness and reason to live, but now all that's left for him is his Clan's well fare and nothing else.  Sierthra's death left a pain in his heart that could be replaced by none, save Sierthra's late sister called Sierethra.  After some time, Aviand took her as a mate, knowing that it was his duty to the Clan to see it to future generations, but the original Sierthra has never left his heart. (His daughter is called Sierthra II in memory.)

Other than that, Aviand is a strong, proud and well-respected member within his own clan.
