Witchlight Dragons are silent, secretive beasts that haunt the most remote corners of the wilderness. They beguile their unsuspecting prey into peril by assaulting their perceptions of reality and stoking the fires of paranoia with masterfully-conjured illusions. Unwary travelers have been led astray by the soft, inviting glow of their eyes amidst a sea of encroaching darkness, never to be seen again. Those that survive a Witchlight Dragon’s psychic onslaughts do not escape unchanged: some believe that the apparitions these dragons summon to tempt or torment their victims awaken them to hidden truths about themselves.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dagyde acts as the head of the Witchlights of SL's scroll. They are a particularly quiet bunch, especially Dagyde, and spend most of their time prowling the forest around the cave, often meeting up with one another and bonding over hunting.

Cold and ruthless, Dagyde is a sinister dragon to be caught alone with. He uses his illusions not only to hunt, but also to torture anything unlucky enough to cross his path. Those who don't belong to the cave are battered by harsh manifestations of their innermost fears until they are left on the brink of psychosis.

Fortunately, he has made a pact with Virtus, the cave's leader. He and his Witchlights are to leave the scroll's dragons alone, and in turn their section of the forest will be left untouched. However, some of his dragons, and including himself, still occasionally send some cheeky illusions to any who get too close.

SL has miraculously earned the trust and alliance of Dagyde by scratching his neck.
