Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Poor, poor Stuck. Upon hatching, he managed to get a piece of shell to stick to his tail, a fragment which refused to come off no matter how hard he shook it or banged it against walls. The other hatchlings were rather ruthless with their teasing, especially after he brought it to the attending mother to be removed; in fact, his name came from the incident. Stuck grew up to be a sheepish dragon as a result, the kind who would try to stay in the background in every situation. He tends to help out in the effort to preserve and cook the meat that hunting parties bring back to the clan, as it lets him keep to himself while still helping out.
