Sophrosyne Dragons are a rare sight, typically making themselves known only to protect and heal the vulnerable. A visit from one serves as a reminder that kindness prevails, and that there’s always hope for positive change. While it is known that they possess the power to reverse botched spells, some claim they can even cure methodically-cast curses. This has never been formally documented, but these dragons have been seen arriving in the aftermath of violence, and the scars of tragedy seem to heal faster in their wake. The feathers of a Sophrosyne have thus become a symbol of perseverance and light in the face of darkness.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Wiccana Thorne Dorkface was found as a hatchling and adopted into SparrowSelkie's clan. She is an inbred, and as a result she had health problems as a hatchling. Not wanting any weakness in his branch, Embiruk refused to let her join the Dorkface branch. Ksaka and Ekeiwi, two Radiant Angel dragons, knew that the sickly hatchling wouldn't be able to fend for herself, so they took her in. They enjoyed taking care of her, and started taking care of more and more hatchlings, until they eventually formed the Angel branch of the clan. Now all the dragons in the clan who are not in another branch and don't want to join the Incediars are in the Angel branch. Wiccana is gentle and kind, and has a small talent for healing magic. She has a soft spot for inbreds like herself and is strongly opposed to inbred killing.
