Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It gives off a glow that lights up the cave.

Look, it’s grown frills, and the glow around it has become even brighter.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Simin is the pride of her mother, who loves her more than all her other children.  She doesn't allow that to go to her head, however, and is kind to all the other hatchlings.  Her best friend is her brother, who she plays with more than anyone else.  But she will make time for any hatchling who wants attention.  She is just as brave and active as her brother, and will help the other hatchlings chase whatever prey they can find.
